Should we tackle 'fast fashion'?
"Some people must have a very poor sense of fashion if they need to change their look every few months."

- Changing their look every season? Erm...wouldn't that suggest a pretty good sense of fashion?
"Fashion plus the Orwelllian advertizing industry have brainwashed people into thinking that they have to follow every new, invented trend with sheeplike, brainless obedience. Even little children sneer and bully those they consider unfashionable. This also applies in home decor as much as for clothes.
Fashion is fascism."

"Fashion is Fascism"... I wonder if Bill thought this little gem up himself or whether he got it from somewhere else and decided to republish it, believeing in a moron-like, brainless way that we would just accept him as a leader in original thought?
Saying that, I'm probably being unfair to Bill. There's always the chance that someone with some intelligence might post on Have Your Say and Bill might just be one of those people. To give him credit, it's quite a catchy phrase - something akin to an advertising slogan. Perhaps it would work as a T shirt?
Oh...wait a minute...

...I wonder if they have child sizes?
"The energy from the sun actually hitting our planet is enough to run our energy needs several orders of magnitude higher than our own personal human needs. Therefore it is the fact of economics getting in the way of sustainability. Recycling everything would stop landfill. Recycling needs energy and we have that just not the economy willing to do anything about it."

- "The fact of economics getting in the way"?
Was it Wall Street that split the atom, John? Was Enron consulted about the Laws of Thermodynamics?
John, meet Science. Science...this is John
"Why not ask the likes of Madonna? Or any other poseur celebrity fashion victim who wear their heart on their disposable sleeves? It is they who drive the trend for fast fashion, not wanting to be seen in the same outfit twice...silly pop stars obsessing about designer labels and reeling off the brand names in the same breath as all their musical "influences" a la Lady Gaga...how "cool" and "du jour."
I blame the New Romantics and Face magazine personally...damned 80s revivalism."

- Yeah, because there was no such thing as fashion before the 80s. Personaly I think it reached its zenith with the towering clothing achievements of the Gender Benders.
Come back Marilyn! All is forgiven!
"I'm also very annoyed by clothes that I buy. Most are poorly and cheaply made, and last through 10 or so washes before shrinking. I don't even tumble dry. Even so-called label brands aren't necessarily good quality, you just pay for the name! So - where on Earth *do* you buy decent, high quality, reasonably priced clothing that will last a few years, that isn't made in a sweat-shop?"

- Surely the simple answer here is to buy clothes that don't annoy you? Although I'm still struggling to understand the concept of why someone would buy annoying clothes in the first place.
